Becoming a Volunteer

IEC has only a couple of paid staff for basic upkeep of the building.  All other people from those appointed to the Board of Trustee, those elected by community members to serve as Executive Committee to those that help in the kitchen, serve food or run the programs are all volunteers.  By becoming a volunteer, you stay active in your own community, you will learn and teach and you make an impact. Allah has blessed the followers of Ahlul Bayt with talents beyond imagination.  Whether you are a doctor, teacher, writer, painter, engineer, student, office worker, taxi driver, or a housewife, you can make an impact in our society. Please, check the Volunteer page to see a list of needs in different categories that specific help is needed for the IEC affairs.

Some of volunteer work requires you to be physically present at IEC building during events, such as help with the programs. But, there are other needs that you may be able to provide by having access to the Internet. You will notice that there are many categories related to the IEC Web site. Providing Feedback

IEC is a community based organization. Your feedback is important and vital for having a vibrant and dynamic community. There are many challenges for us as Muslims living United States including work, education, raising family, as well as our civil right in this society. IEC has tried and will continue to be a voice for the Pure Islam as was reintroduced to us by Imam Khomeini (r.a.); The Islam of Muhammd (s.a), Ali (a.s.), Hussain (a.s.) and other Ahlul Bayt. However, we are not perfect and there will be mistakes here and there.  We are humbly asking you to guide us through your constructive feedback.  Whether, it is a concern that you have about a program, a suggestion for improving services, or even thanking the volunteer, let your feedback be a guiding light for us. All feedback are originally received by the Webmaster and then rerouted to the appropriate members of the Board of Trustee or Executive Committee.
